scholarship scheme

Tipperary Credit Union operates a Student Scholarship Scheme for members entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or Post Leaving Cert course. The scholarship is an open draw, and is not based on academic achievement. The draw is strictly supervised and controlled. One lucky student each year qualifies for this scholarship.

How do I enter?

Each Leaving Certificate Student in the common bond of Tipperary Credit Union will receive an application form around the time of their exam results. Alternatively students and members can collect an application form at any Tipperary Credit Union Office. The scholarship is available to students undertaking Third Level Courses or Trade Apprenticeships.
The Scholarship will be paid at a rate of €1500 per annum for a maximum of four years or the course duration which ever is the less.

I am a current Leaving Certificate student can I enter?

Yes but you must meet certain criteria. Applicants must be living within the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union Limited or hold the Common Bond by association, or have been a member, or whose family were members of Tipperary Credit Union Limited prior to 31st May in the year of application.

The applicant must be entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or Post Leaving Cert course.

The applicant must intend to pursue a course of study in a recognised Irish or European Third Level Institute.

How is the scholarship paid?

The Scholarship will be paid at a rate of €1,500 per annum for a maximum of four years or the course duration which ever is the less.

The Scholarship will be paid in two instalments per year, directly to the student.

Payment of the Scholarship is dependent on the student maintaining satisfactory progress.

Closing date for applications is the 1st October each year.

SCHOLARSHIP DRAW– RULES

Scholarship 'Draw' for all Tipperary Credit Union members entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or Post Leaving Cert course.

One Lucky Student each year will qualify for this scholarship (until further notice).

Applicants must be living within the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union Limited or hold the Common Bond by association, or have been a member, or whose family were members of Tipperary Credit Union Limited, prior to 31st of May in the year of application.

The applicant must be entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or PLC course.

The applicant must intend to pursue a course of study in a recognised Irish or European Third Level Institute.

Application forms must be returned together with evidence that the applicant has been offered, and has accepted, a recognised course.

The Scholarship will be paid in two instalments directly to the student at a rate of €1,500 per annum for a maximum of four years or the course duration which ever is the less.

Payment of the Scholarship is dependent on the student maintaining satisfactory progress.

The decision of the Board of Directors will be final.
