The first of our Open Days took place at our St Bernard’s Branch Office in February. St Bernard’s Credit Union joined with Tipperary Credit Union in 2014 when a Transfer of Engagments occurred between them. The St Berndard’s branch has been operating in Bansha for 50 years this year also.
The Open Day was a great success, with a large turnout from the local community, to show their support for the occasion. Tipp Mid-West broadcast live from the branch. We gave away €1,000 worth of prizes on the day which as you can imagine went done well. There was a real community feel to the event with various members speaking about their expernices of St Bernard’s through the years.
The very first member of St Bernard’s Credit Union; Morgan O’Connell was presented with a copy of his original membership form framed. Morgan spoke about his involvemnt with the credit union movement, which really highlighted how importanted the volenteers were and still are to Credit Unions.
