Six €1,500 Student Scholarships up for grabs.

Tipperary Credit Union operates a Student Scholarship Scheme. The applicant must be for the first time entering the first year of a recognised Third Level, PLC course, or Trade Apprenticeship. The John Gaynor memorial scholarship is an open draw and is not based on academic achievement. The draw is strictly supervised and controlled.

Six lucky students each year will qualify for this scholarship, worth €1,500 each.

One student member of Tipperary Credit Union and one student from each of the five following secondary schools in the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union:

  • Castletroy College, Limerick.
  • Scoil Na Trionoide Naofa, Doon, Limerick
  • St Ailbe’s Secondary School, Tipperary Town.
  • St Anne’s Secondary School, Tipperary Town.
  • The Abbey CBS, Tipperary Town.

The Scholarship is a once of payment of €1,500.

The €1,500 Scholarship will be paid in two installments of €750 per semester, directly to the student’s Tipperary Credit Union Current Account.

Payment of the Scholarship is dependent on the student maintaining satisfactory progress.

Closing date for applications is the 1st October each year

  1. Scholarship ‘Draw’ for all Tipperary Credit Union members entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or Post Leaving Cert course or Trade Apprenticeships.
  2. Six Lucky Students will qualify for this scholarship each year.
  3. One student member of Tipperary Credit Union and one student from each of the following secondary schools in the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union:
    – Castletroy College, Limerick.
    – Scoil Na Trionoide Naofa, Doon, Limerick.
    – St Ailbe’s Secondary School, Tipperary Town.
    – St Anne’s Secondary School, Tipperary Town.
    – The Abbey CBS, Tipperary Town.
  4. Applicants must be living, working, or have been attending a secondary school within the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union Limited or hold the Common Bond by association, or have been a member, or whose family were members of Tipperary Credit Union Limited, prior to 1st of October in the year of application.
  5. The applicant must be for the first time entering the first year of a recognised Third Level, PLC course, or Trade Apprenticeship.
  6. The applicant must intend to pursue a course of study in a recognised Irish or European Third Level Institute.
  7. If entering the draw through a secondary school, proof of attendance will be required.
  8. Application forms must be returned together with evidence that the applicant has been offered, and has accepted, a recognised course or Trade Apprenticeship.
  9. Closing date for scholarship applications 1st October. A Current Account must be opened by the applicant (student)  no later than the 21st of October.
  10. The Scholarship is a total of €1,500 which will be paid in two installments of €750 over the course of the academic year. This will be paid directly into the student’s Tipperary Credit Union Current Account.
  11. Payment of the Scholarship is dependent on the student maintaining satisfactory progress.
  12. The decision of the Board of Directors will be final.

Yes but you must meet certain criteria. Applicants must be living, working or attending school in one of the five secondary schools within the Common Bond of Tipperary Credit Union Limited or hold the Common Bond by association, or have been a member, or whose family were members of Tipperary Credit Union Limited prior to 31st May in the year of application.

The applicant must be entering the first year of a recognised Third Level or Post Leaving Cert course.

The applicant must intend to pursue a course of study in a recognised Irish or European Third Level Institute.
