European Payment Services Regulations 2018

European Communities Payment Services Regulations 2018

The first Payment Services  Directive (EU) 2007/64/EC (PSD1), which came into force in 2009, established common rules for certain types of electronic payments, such as credit transfers, direct debits, card payments, and mobile and online payments.  Directive 2015/2366/EU on payment services (PSD2) updates and complements the rules set out in PSD1 and takes new providers of innovative payment services into account. The new rules seek to:

  • Make it easier and safer to use internet payment services
  • Better protect consumers against fraud, abuse, and payment problems
  • Promote innovative mobile and internet payment services
  • Strengthen consumer rights.

Third Level Information Day Tipperary Credit Union

At Tipperary Credit Union, we understand the importance of our Youth and their education. As part of our Youth Programme Initiatives, we are holding a Third Level Information Day for Leaving Certificate students and an information evening for Parents. The information day will look at the many issues that influence success at Third Level along with the many challenges faced by students and parents making the transition.

Author of Cracking the College Code and Education Consultant, Catherine O’ Connor will be presenting the information day for students and also will be presenting an information evening designed specifically for the concerns of parents.

The event will be held in St. Ailbe’s Vocational School Tipperary Town, on Thursday the 26th of April.

The Student information afternoon will take place at 2pm and is organised through participating schools.

The Parents information evening will take place at 7pm and there is an open invitation for all parents and guardians in the local area. The information evening for parents will last about 1 hour and you must email your attendance in advance, for parents not participating through the selected schools.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • Making informed course and college choices
  • Reasons for withdrawal from college
  • Preparing for change
  • Getting to know how the level system works
  • What students face in day to day life at college
  • Where and when to look for help
  • Becoming a successful student
  • Living at home or away

Tipperary Credit Union will also be on hand to discuss any student finance queries.

You may confirm your attendance by emailing judy.burke@tipperarycu.ie by Thursday the 19th of April.

Cracking the College Code, published by CJ Fallon, was launched by the Provost of Trinity College Dublin and the Minister for Education and Skills and is endorsed by third level institutions and the National Parents Council Post Primary. It is described by the President of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors as “the must have essential guide for all students, parents and guardians – full of valuable insights and practical advice – the book that should be in every Leaving Cert student’s bag.”
